Fall is Coming

This week in digital camera, we sought out the first whiffs of fall. Then, we created a "polaroid emulsion transfer" on them. I chose this picture because I liked the lighting, which got even better as the action progressed. I used the 'ocean ripple' distort and the flower brush, and the maple tea paper. Beyond the violet mist, we feel a growing crispness in the air...

Kitty Cat of the Month

We all know that kittens are adorable, but do you know something else cute? Baby chicks. This year, my grandma is raising chickens, and as such there is currently an old water tank in her garage filled with eleven fluffy little chicks. Well, they're starting to get their feathers in now, actually, but they're still really cute. Their names include En (Norwegian for one), the first hatched, Francis (I was trying to think of good gender neutral names since we don't know what they are yet), Ash, Smaug (my cousins wanted to do LotR/Hobbit names), Pippin (it took a long time to hatch and my mom was like "it's still a-pippin at that shell!" and so we called it Pippin), and various others (it's hard to keep them all straight! Especially the yellow ones). So, to celebrate the cuteness, this month's kitty of the month is snuggling a baby chicky rather like my grandma's :)

If you'll forgive this bit of self promotion, I was really quite proud of my trunk or treat this Halloween and so I decided to put it up here. I made Penguin's Iceberg Lounge specifically from Gotham, complete with frozen iceberg Ed (to the right of myself). Almost no one got what it was, and no one at all got my Gotham references, so now I’m sharing it with the internet.
